Abstract:Junior faculty members play a crucial role in the sustainable development of higher education institutions, and they are indispensable in the transition from traditional education to quality-oriented education. In this sense, their development is no only related to their personal efforts but has a lot to do with the scientific training pathways, fair assessment criteria and methods stipulated by universities and colleges. Therefore, in the context of education evaluation reform in the new era, it is of significance to systematically develop the training pathways for junior faculty member of universities and colleges in Hebei province. Hence, this paper has investigated the status quo of junior faculty members' development via literature review, field interview, and statistical analysis. The investigation covers several aspects, such as professional ethics, training pathways, evaluation systems, and practical competencies. In this way, some challenges and problems are revealed. On this basis, given the particulars and policies of Hebei, this paper proposes some pathways for the development of junior faculty members. In this sense, this study aims at laying a theoretical and practical foundation for the high-quality and intensive development of Hebei's higher education, thus enhancing Hebei's competitiveness in higher education within the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
